Raja bear

18 Apr

I feel like I haven’t blogged anything interesting in a while, but the truth is nothing much has been going on. It’s been cold and rainy for the past 2 weeks or so- I think mother nature is taking this whole “April showers” thing a bit too seriously.

I want so bad for it to get warm and sunny out so me & B can start playing outside and getting some much-needed fresh air.

On a happy note, our dog who refuses to come inside on her own (we think she has anxiety and for the past year hasn’t come in the house) and pretty much lives outside 24/7 rain or shine or snow blizzard has started coming in when we call to her! It makes me so happy because for the past few years I felt like I didn’t really have a dog with her choosing to live outside. She’s a Siberian Husky so she can weather any storm- literally; thunderstorms with lightning and rain, blowing snow storms (her favorite), even the summer sun (her least favorite). My husband even built her a dog house to keep her cool in the summer and dry in the wet seasons but she refused to even step foot paw in it & we think that’s a party of her anxiety. So she just lounges out in the middle of the yard in a down pour or if she gets sick of that she’ll take shelter under our deck.

My theory is she is about as sick of all of this rain as we are! In any case, I hope she continues to come in and hang out with us all. We’ve missed her.

Mmmm doesn’t she get the sad look when everyone is so nice and dry inside though?

Once in a while she would act like she wanted to come in but as soon as you opened the door she’d run away. I think her anxiety was getting the best of her 😦

Why anxiety though? think she was trained in the past to not go inside?

Nope, we bought her as a puppy from a breeder so we did the training and she was always an indoor dog, but it seemed after I had Braxtyn she just didn’t want to be indoors. I think maybe she felt slightly replaced?

Yeah, That’s the single most frequent issue that my pet owner friends have come across too. But staying out in the cold like that all the time? can’t be good for her ;(

You would think the cold would be bad for her (& if she was any other breed then it probably would be) but she’s a Siberian Husky and they are made for that kind of weather- they can survive in -70 degree below zero (Fahrenheit) temperatures. -56 Celsius, is that right? lol sorry! Anyhow it never gets that cold around here haha! But she loves it none the less πŸ™‚

I guess they are born with the genes to handle the weather no matter what huh! πŸ™‚ how about outings though? she’s okay with that right?

Oh yes, it’s in their blood!
She does love going for walks so we’re good on outings, I think slowly but surely we’ll get her to come around & spend more time inside the house πŸ™‚

Tell me about it! Mother nature needs to get it together and warm up asap!

Say something!
