Weekend photo explosion

29 May

Memorial Day weekend started off Saturday evening with a trip to the beach, just mommy and B.

Saturday we got an early afternoon start and played at the beach for 3 hours. (Didn’t take many pictures because we were so busy having fun!)

Memorial Day was very hot and humid so as soon as Braxtyn saw the sprinklers turn on he was all about running through them. In his diaper! Aww!

1. Are you a napper?

Well, before I had a child- absolutely not. The only time I could nap before then was if I was sick. Now, I feel like I could take a nap at any second! It’s crazy. Once in a great while when B takes his marathon nap in the afternoon I take a little one too (shhh don’t tell.) Although that looks like that’s on the way out the window.

2. What was your favorite subject in school? Most hated?

English. I love everything about English classes! If I could just take random English classes now, I would :) Most hated was definitely Math with Science for a close second. I despise math. I’m so glad my husband is good at it. (He sucks at is bad at English so we even each other out.)

3. Did you have the something old new borrowed and blue at your wedding? What were they?

…I think so. Omg, how can I not remember?! It was only 4 years ago, hah! I know I did, I just can’t remember what everything was. :( I’m losing my mind already.

4. What one thing are you determined to do this summer

Go to the beach as much as possible. (Which shouldn’t be hard since Braxtyn has asked to go to the beach for the past 2 months now!)

5. Ice cream or Popsicles?
Ice cream, no doubt.

Mama/Boo Boo day

24 May

Well… every day is pretty much a mama/boo boo day. We drove to our favorite park yesterday and since B has been O.K. taking a later nap, we went during nap time from 12-3. I mean, that’s smack dab in the middle of the day. I have mixed feelings about nap times:

1: It’s nice to get a 2-3 hour break in the day to get the house clean and laundry done (Braxtyn likes to “help” with those things which makes it a little hard for me to do when he’s awake.)

2: Like I said, it’s smack dab in the middle of the afternoon. Prime beach/park/play/running errands time.

The good thing about yesterday was we made it through the entire day without a terrible two’s melt down which has NEVER happened when he’s missed a nap. He snoozed for 10 minutes on the way to the park and then later that evening for maybe 15 when we went to get ice cream. Not sure if that will ever happen again- but it was nice.

Going down the big, twisty slide!

Crossing the bridge- BIG grin :)

Saying, “Mama, catch meeeee!” (This one spits you off at the end and he fell the first time.)

& just for funsies. He was actually really strangling me for a minute there. He thought it was h-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s.

Arts & crafts & dirt

17 May

Monday night we went over to my sister’s house. Braxtyn always loves playing with his big cousin Torrance so they played out in the backyard for a while.

I’m not an outdoorsy type of person. I hate getting dirt on my hands (even sand at the beach makes me cringe) and if it’s not warm out I tend to hang out indoors. Call me a wimp, but it’s just how I am.

But guess what? I have a boy. Boys like to play outside all the time. They like to get dirty, they don’t care if it’s cold, they love to splash around in the water and make mud and the bigger the mess, the more fun.

That’s exactly what Braxtyn did Monday night and it took everything in me not to pull him inside and rinse the mud off his feet and the dirt off his hands and face and put some socks on his cold little feet. I kept complaining about how dirty he was getting and my husband kept telling me, “It’s all right. He’s ok. He’s just being a boy.” So I guess I better get used to it.

It’s hard though! I’m a girly girl. I’m not used to this stuff! Ok?

On another messy note: The cousins made homemade bird feeders out of toilet paper rolls, peanut butter, and bird seed. Messy, messy, mess! Braxtyn had fun though, so that’s all that matters, right?

Boo hoo for me

14 May

Our computer isn’t working at home. Again. We definitely need a new one, it won’t even process past the Welcome screen which makes me nervous because I have many, many pictures on there that aren’t saved yet!

Anyway, that means I won’t be able to update very often until we get something figured out. Blogging from my phone makes me dizzy and my Nook isn’t much better at navigating- not to mention the only pictures I can post are from my phone since I won’t be able to upload to our computer.

I’ll try to keep up though! This is my virtual scrap-book of my baby, after all :)

Mothers Day

14 May

I didn’t do anything and it was pretty nice! Husband worked in the yard while Braxtyn played outside and I laid in the sun and read my Nook most of the afternoon.
